Privacy and your data

Agent City is built to run on your Mac. There’s no Agent City account, and nothing is sent to Agent City’s makers.

Everything you create is stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Agent City:

What Notes
Chats Kept as long as Settings → Data & privacy → History says.
Shared memory and each agent’s own memory Until you edit or forget them.
API keys and sign-ins Hidden from chats, tool results and the audit log. Each agent’s tools only see the keys it declares.
Files shared in chats Only the extracted text. Deleted with the chat.
Automations and their last 30 runs
Reminders, events and event keys Event keys are stored only as hashes.
Meeting transcripts and notes The audio is deleted once it’s transcribed.
The audit log Every tool call, kept for 30 days by default.
Agents you install or build

Settings → Data & privacy → Where your data goes summarises this for your setup.

  • Your model. With Ollama on your Mac, your chats never leave it. With a cloud model (OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter…), your messages and the agents’ work are sent to that provider.
  • Your agents’ services. Agents reach the services they’re for. The weather agent asks a weather service about a place, the web agent searches the web, and Gmail talks to Google.
  • Voice. The built-in Whisper and Kokoro run on your Mac. A cloud transcription service, if you choose one, receives your recordings.
  • Claude Code. The Agent builder, and automation drafting if you turn it on, use your own Claude Code account.
  • Updates. Agent City checks GitHub for new versions.

Agents installed from a source run inside Agent City, with its access to your files. Review their code before installing. See Agent sources.

Quit Agent City and delete ~/Library/Application Support/Agent City.
